LINKMETER.SERVER®

A free solution for monitoring IP connection parameters is offered - a WEB browser <-> Server.
If you are a telecom operator, you just need to allocate a hardware server, fill out an application, and in a few days you will have a full–fledged server for speed control. The criteria and steps for hosting your server in the Linkmeter database are described below.

Place the LINKMETER.SERVER at your place!

In order for your server to be listed on linkmeter.net for public use, there are a number of requirements that must be met. These include naming conventions, hardware and software configurations, and accurate DNS information about your host record. The rules and guidelines below are designed to ensure that we provide a reliable and efficient network of servers that can provide high-quality services to your users.

When we receive an application to host your server, our team of experts will begin processing it the same day. We recommend submitting a proposal regardless of the current availability of the server, as we are able to identify specific areas where it meets or does not meet the requirements specified in your application for the data. After we receive your application, we will contact you to discuss the next steps and draft a contract.

Requirements

In order for the server to appear in the list for testing on linkmeter.net , it is necessary to satisfy the following criteria:

  • Minimum bandwidth of 1 Gigabit per second (1 Gbit/s)
  • Full name of the organization (operator) and the corresponding website
  • Data about the city, country, and geographical coordinates (latitude and longitude)
  • Public static IP address
  • Assigned domain name

Reasons for refusal of placement

The server hosting request will be rejected for any of the following reasons:

  • A duplicate IP address (such an IP address is already in the database linkmeter.net )
  • Multiple LINKMETER.SERVER hosts on the same phisical server
  • Providing a second server for the same network segment of the same operator

Recommendations

In order to make it easier and relatively fast to host and manage the server linkmeter.net There are several recommendations that can be made.

  • Make sure that the registered email address of the server owner is tracked and that you can send an email to it and receive a non-automatic response.
  • Updates about server status changes and other messages are sent to this address.
  • Updates about new versions of LINKMETER.SERVER and any changes concerning your server will also be sent to this address.
  • We recommend using an email alias in case any specific user address is no longer in use, so that the server administrator is aware of the status of the LINKMETER.SERVER.
  • Administrators can grant permissions to other users to apply to servers, among other functions.
  • Send the offer application via e-mail to info@trxline.ru or through application form

LINKMETER.SERVER® Requirements

HARDWARE Requirements

  1. CPU

    • At least 4 cores. The higher the performance and the younger the processor generation, the better
    • If NUMA optimization is enabled, then it must be turned off, respectively, preferences for single-processor systems with a large number of cores.
    • AES-NI instructions are necessary for the normal functioning of the system.
  2. Memory

    • Minimum 4 GB of RAM. 8 or 16 is better.
    • Memory with minimal delay times is welcome.
  3. HDD/SSD

    • A large amount of permanent memory is not required
    • A minimum of 2 GB of permanent memory is required
    • It is also advisable to have a place to store log files
  4. Network Card

Chelsio and Mellanox showed good test results. Intel network cards are the same, but they are much cheaper.
  5. Bandwidth

A speed of 1 GBit/s is the minimum required to deploy a LINKMETER.SERVER. In a normal connection, 10 GBit/s is better.

Software Requirements

  1. Operation System

    • Ubuntu LTS /Debian Linux
    • Astra Linux
    • Centos/RedHat Linux
    • OpenWRT
  2. Configuration

    1. It is highly recommended to disable tools such as netfilter, ipset, cillium and other services that may generate unnecessary traffic for the firewall.
    2. Be sure to use the built-in network card functions. They must be enabled. NIC Hardware Offload needs to be enabled.
  3. Availability

The central software update servers must be accessible from your server via all IP ports.
